Imagination VS  Willpower

Willpower is meant to fail.

Have you ever tried to relax in a nervous situation? The more you try, the more you fail. Some lucky people have learned to take deep breaths and picture something relaxing or humorous, like a naked audience. Nevertheless, most people will go through their entire lives without being able to relax on command.

Willpower is a mechanism that was built to give your brain an easy way to disobey your orders. Most of the time, it is doing this for your own good, or the good of the human race. For instance, if a man, during sex, starts willing himself not to have an orgasm it will probably make it happen two times faster. But a commonly known method of delaying orgasm is to think of baseball or some other non-sexual subject.

The mind responds to what you believe, not what you want. If you believe something, your mind will go to whatever lengths necessary to make that belief true, including changing you and your perception, or even changing the world around you if it can.

Belief and Imagination – “I’ll believe it when I see it!”

What is more convincing than actually experiencing something? Not even a testimonial from a very reputable source can replace actually witnessing an event. Your subconscious mind works this way too, if you experience something, your subconscious mind lets down its guard and accepts it as true.

Belief and Imagination both trigger the same mental mechanism. In fact, it could be said that belief and imagination are the same mechanism, because they have the same effect. Many studies have been done on the result of imagination vs. belief. A basketball player who believes he can shoot and score is much more likely to make a shot than one who doesn’t believe. However, if the person who doesn’t believe imagines himself shooting and scoring, it is almost as likely to happen.

Try a little experiment. Get a rubber band and shoot it at a spot on the wall 10 times. Now sit back and take 5 minutes to imagine the rubber band hitting the exact spot on the wall every time you shoot it. It never misses in your mind. Every time you shoot it hits. In your mind, shoot 10 times and make it hit every time. After 5 minutes of visualization, shoot at the same spot another 10 times. The vast majority of people will find their shots are much more accurate than before. If you are already good at shooting rubber bands, try something else, like flipping a quarter and catching it with your eyes closed.

The Mind can’t tell the difference

The subconscious mind can not tell the difference between imagination and real experience. Don’t believe us? If you imagine food, you will become hungry and start to salivate. If you imagine an attractive person, you will start to get excited. You, of course, know it is not real, but your subconscious mind does not and its mental reaction is the same.

Using sensitive medical equipment, scientists can spot which parts of the brain “light up” when a person has an experience. What is amazing is that the exact same areas light up when the person is asked to simply imagine the same experience. The neural, electrical response to a real experience is almost identical to that of imagination! So identical, in fact, that the subconscious mind has trouble telling the difference.

The quirk of imagination is something that can be leveraged with Mental Programming. If you imagine yourself strong, thin and healthy, your mind, thinking it is real, will act to make the visualization a reality.

The remarkable effects of imagination increase with the clarity of the experience inside your head. Visualizing while in deep Alpha, near Theta, is enormously powerful because you are near a dream state, which is as vivid as mental imagery gets.

How To Ignite Your Imagination And Get What You Want Faster…

Your subconscious mind is like a computer in that it runs programs.

Right now, as you are reading this, you are running programs to control your breathing, your heartbeat and your thoughts. Your programs are neither good nor bad. Some of them benefit you while others limit you. Your programs control your life in the background. You can think of programs like beliefs or mindsets.

Manifesting is difficult until you re-program your mind.

Why did I use the word re-program?

Well, you and I were programmed as we were growing up. We run wealth programs, health programs, sex programs, relationship programs and self image programs – just to name a few. Our programs define how we think about the world and ultimately, how we experience life. The frightening thing is that a lot of your programs are complete nonsense.

For example, I used to run a program in my subconscious mind called “No pain, No gain.” Sound familiar? I learned this belief from my Dad, who worked hard and didn’t really love his work. Here’s what showed up later on in my life… If I was succeeding, there was always pain and struggle involved.

When I saw this, I invested sometime installing a new program – “Effortless Living”. Within months, my world was very, very different. Financial success began falling into my lap effortlessly.

‘No Pain, No Gain’ is an example of a nonsense program. It is not true that you have to work hard and suffer in order to succeed in life.

See, you might want to manifest wealth, but if your subconscious mind is programmed for ’scarcity’, you’ll NEVER be wealthy, or at least not for long.

In America today, 50% of all lottery winners lose their winnings are are back in debt within 2 years. Take a moment to let that statistic sink in. It’s incredible. The lottery winners were programmed to spend money, not to keep it, so their subconscious mind makes sure that they lose it!

Here’s a take away for you: If you want to create wealth and keep your wealth, you need to remove your limiting programs and install programs that are supportive of creating wealth.

One of the easiest and fastest ways to re-program your mind is through visualization. Make a daily practice of visualizing yourself living the life you want to lead and being a person with the mindsets you will need to have to create that life.  Here are some tips to help you along…

Two tips to help re-program your mind.

Tip #1: Stop visualizing and begin experiencing.

If you want to re-program your subconscious mind, you need to be able to communicate effectively with it. Your subconscious mind speaks the language of the five senses, called VAKGO.

VAKGO is an acronym for Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Gustatory and Olfactory. These are just fancy names for seeing, hearing, feeling (emotions and tactile feeling), tasting and smelling. As far as your subconscious mind is concerned, a REAL experience contains all of these five elements (VAKGO).

Here’s my point. If you are just visualizing (using the visual sense only), it’s unlikely that you will trick your subconscious mind into believing that your mental visualization is an actual experience because you have only given your subconscious mind one fifth of an experience i.e. sight.

So STOP visualizing and begin experiencing. The next time you relax and begin your mental practice of conscious creation, be sure to include all the FIVE senses in your imagination.

You see, the subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between a REAL experience. By imagining an experience using VAKGO, you are tricking the mind into believing that your IMAGINED experience is real. You make your mental experience real by including all the FIVE senses in your imagination.

Tip #2: Cycle VAKGO

During your creative visualization time, cycle the five senses round and round in your mind. Notice what you are seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting and smelling in your imagined experience. Then repeat that cycle over and over again throughout your visualization time.

This process of cycling VAKGO has the effect of branding your experience into your subconscious mind. You subconscious mind instantly communicates your intention to the Quantum Field (a physics term for the energy that hold the universe together) and your manifestation wheels are set in motion.  

If you are not spending some time in your imagination every day, you are missing out and you’ll probably never re-program your mind for success.
